Medicare Bundling

With bundling clinics and doctors team up to provide all the services associated with procedures in return for a single payment amount.  We can recall in the beginning years of this organization of how reimbursement for the anemia drug epogen was kept separate from payment for treatment.  This led to the misuse of the drug with patients' red blood cell levels being bounced all over in order to increase the use of epogen - to the detriment of the health of the patient, but increased profit for the clinic.  We believe bundling has the potential to stop the misuse of things like epogen, though some worry it could be underused.
