Colorado Representative Kefalas Meeting
« on: December 17, 2011, 08:16:07 AM »
A group of us had a meeting with Colorado Representative John Kefalas this last Dec. 14th.  We had several things come out of the meeting:

1) The 2007 state bill for dialysis tech is coming up for renewal this next legislative session.  We will be following this to make sure it is renewed and it is tweaked so tech certification is checked during state inspections and NOT just during clinic licensing.  THIS WILL BE A HIGH PRIORITY FOR US!

2) We will be following and helping where we can with what other states are doing to improve dialysis.  Vermont is one example.  We have been in contact with such people as Vermont State Senator Pollina and forwarded some information we hope will be helpful-their bill for patient/staff ratios, S.83:

3) We will continue to work for Standards of Care in dialysis, identifying allies and answering opposition concerns.
