>All communication with our organization is confidential and anonymous unless you state otherwise.<
><
>Who we are:<
> DEO is a non-profit patient advocacy organization made up of medical workers, dialysis patients and their families, working for patient rights, rights of patients to choose the dialysis modality that best suits their needs, national standards of care, dialysis education and to protect dialysis patients from having their civil and human rights violated in the name of profit.<
>DEO was the organization responsible for the Senate Hearings on June 26th 2000 held by the Senate Committee on Aging chaired by Senator Grassley. <
><
>DEO Advocates for the following:<
><
>DEO advocates for patients who have had their civil and human rights violated while being treated in the dialysis setting.<
><
>DEO advocates for the right of dialysis patients to be able to choose the dialysis modality that best suits their individual needs, not limited to what the dialysis company in their area chooses to offer.<
><
>DEO has collected documents of various abuses in the dialysis industry, medical studies against the reuse of the artificial kidneys, the reuse chemicals and are responsible for various lawsuits present and pending.<
><
>DEO advocates that Nephrologists no longer be exempt from the Stark and anti-kickback laws pertaining to profiting from owning dialysis units, signing exclusive contracts with national dialysis providers, and receiving monetary perks and bonuses from these same companies.<
><
>DEO advocates for Nationwide standards of care for all dialysis patients. This to also include national standards of training & education of both staff and patients.<
><
>DEO advocates that those companies providing dialysis services to dialysis patients remove themselves from the Stock Market. By being on the Stock Market, these companies put far more emphasis on profit for the stock holders which in turn jeopardizes the quality of care, number of staff per patient, quality of education, supplies and services provided to the dialysis patient.<
><
>DEO and Public Awareness:<
>DEO is presently working with various well known journalists, TV News Magazines, the National Action Network, along with many other organizations and individuals to help inform the public of the abuses in the dialysis industry, and to help protect and resolve the Civil and Human Rights violations our patients have experienced.<

For those of you who want to copy this flyer to hand out, feel free to cut and paste it as it should fit on 1 page of paper. This format will not allow us to center the heading and contact information so after cutting and pasting, you will want to do that before you do the final print.<
><
>This is the flyer that will be handed out in DC when our people go up there on Oct. 16. <
><
>Thank you<
