I remember back in 2000 I told the charge nurse I would be pushing to get my daughter on home slow nocturnal dialysis if my daughter was going to be on dialysis much longer - the nurse looked at me like I was nuts, and I was informed they didn't have anything like that in our area. I had been told by one of DialysisEthics founders', Dr. Kenneth Bays, (http://www.dialysisethics2.org/index.php/About-Us/dialysisethics-founders.html) this was what had saved his life and had gotten him enjoying things again.
Out of curiosity, I did a search on what we had in Colorado and I'm happy to report there are a lot of places now offering training in home slow nocturnal - and even four places offering in-center slow nocturnal! I suppose I'll never be totally happy until something like in-center slow nocturnal is a 1st choice - but this does look like an improvement.
