>      On March 21, 2002, at a Capitol Hill press conference Reps. Jim McDermott (D-WA) and Mark Steven Kirk (R-IL) announced the formation of the bipartisan Congressional Kidney Caucus. The purpose of the caucus will be to educate Members of Congress and the public about the problem kidney disease poses for our society. Twenty million Americans suffer from kidney disease and another twenty million are at risk. The Kidney Caucus will provide a forum for the discussion of quality of care and quality of life issues, serve as a resource on the scope and impact of kidney disease, and serve as a source of information on public policy initiatives to aid individuals with chronic kidney disease and irreversible kidney failure. I doubt that DialysisEthics will be listed until the organization has completed and approved for IRS non profit status.

"Like me, you could.....be unfortunate enough to stumble upon a silent war. The trouble is that once you see it, you can't unsee it. And once you've seen it, keeping quiet, saying nothing, becomes as political an act as speaking out. Either way, you're accountable."
