Arlene, you couldn't have said it more eloquently. When my disease progressed to the point the dialysis was imminent, I began looking at the other boards and evaluating them. What I found here was a group of people who actually care what happens to the dialysis patient and work to help them. In my career, I was always the patient advocate and I always took the hits for being there for my patient and taking up for them. But you know what; I wouldn't trade it for anything. The hug, the thank you from them, made it worth all the hits I took, all the chewing outs by the physician, everything. You keep doing what you're doing and I'll be right there with you for anything I can do to help! All you have to do is tell me what I can do. I'm proud to be a part of this forum, offering encouragement to someone who has had a bad day, hopefully offering some advice that they may be able to use that will help them, or just make them feel better. It?s not much, but it's something. If I help one person feel better, then it's worth it.<
><
>Thanks for all that you do Arlene!!! Keep up the great work and all you have to do is call if you need help!<

said Arlene. We have all been thru the good and bad times together. Banded together when needed even when one had different views. Harsh words at times are spoken/typed without ever thinking. We have all laughed, joked, suffered the small defeats, and cried with one another though many miles apart. And when the sh.. hits the fan we will all cheer together, for a job well done and deserved for all, even those we may not always agree with. I truly believe some people just come over here to add fuel to the fire at times, because they can't believe a group of people without ,can actually get something accomplished on truth and documentation alone,so they must try to see if we can be
oken. To them I say............ we are family .........<
>As far as the ice dream shop on the 299, as long as it is not on the pch1 during a rainstorm, I will be there, asking for cinnamon flavor. This time you will know what I look like and the real me......

I was gone for a few days, so apparently I missed something! LuLu, I really hope you change your mind; I like your style, even though we might not always agree; heck, everyone has differences from time to time, but there is one thing I think we can all agree on and that is dialysis can be better than it is; there is hope!!!<
>Yes, there are people who will just post and fuss about things but never lift a finger to help their situation, and there are also others who come here and disagree just for the sake of causing a rucous (sp?), and then again there are people who want to help but don't know how. There are yet others who are willing and able, and do help every day! I was booed by more than a few posters when I first came here; some were occassional posters who hop from board to board causing a stir, and yet others were people who JUST complain and never do any thing to help a situation. Mostly they come and go and aren't worth getting in a tizzy about. I've learned to take it all in stride.<
>I know I can do some good too, and I hope you stay and join me. I think together we could really kick some........... <
>Sorry Arlene, I've heard you're a pretty darned powerfull woman, but there's power in numbers. Let's keep on keepin on!!! Lin.

Each day everyone of us needs to make a forward movement. When I was frustrated, personally I would send out a copy of a letter that went to all Representives and Senator. It made me feel that even when things felt impossible, it was a least something positive. So every disappointment that was handed down, it was healing for me to send off 10 letters. It was at least forward movement.<
>I am not a powerful woman, it is dialysisethics.org that is the power. No one person can acheive anything alone. We need to get the flyers on the board, we need to get to the Town Halls that our elected officials are attending. <
>We need to be pro-active and write, fax and email if you can all your Senators and Reps. Then we need to call and tell them what is happening, and ask for a meeting. If they blow you off, then you can write a flyer that they did this to warn others that they are not taking a stand on this issue. My personal response is that patients losing their rights and choices are important. They pay the ultimate price their lives.<
> As I have always said, you need to make noise and stand firm. You have to
eak alot of eggs to make an omlette. <
>This is a wonderful organization and many may not always agree with one another. But this organization is made up of many fine individuals and with numbers not all will always agree. If we dont agree that is fine, but it makes one think. <
>Much goes on behind the scenes, much advocating that doesnt hit the board. It is getting easier and resolutions come easier as the patient and the clinic come to a resolution. This is what advocating is about. It is to be that voice that will stick to that patient like super glue. We never can run from a situation as it is our patients who pay the ultimate price. But we are all tools in the same toolbox and toes also get stepped on. But our hearts are in it for the justice. We are not popular at times, but we are respected for standing out and stating our truths.<
>I am proud of all of us, as I stated before we are getting the word out and each of our lives are making it better for those who have had no voice. I am proud that this organization has moved forward with our beliefs. We all need to do a positive forward movement at least weekly. <
>It is all of us that contribute to this organization. We are powerful and are getting heard. We all are DE.org...But we also are looking for more State Representatives to advocate for their fellow patient. I do believe that the day is near that we can no longer have to be anonymous. It is coming.....<

Arlene,<
> I could not have said it any better myself. It has taken a community of patients, their families, and medical workers, working together to make this all happen. I also believe that this journey we have been on for 5 years has been divinely guided. How else would so many documents arrive anonymously in our mailboxes showing and proving the abuses of this industry? When we were at our lowest, there was always someone out there who picked us up, dusted us off and sent us on the right path to the next obstacle that needed to be overcome.<
> We have lost so many along the way. So many that used to post, who gave encouragement, and cheered us on. They fought the good fight and gave their lives so that others might live. We owe them much. This is for them. Lets not fail them or those who come after us. There is still much to do. So lets get on with it shall we?
