What specifically were the reasons new standards were promised as a result of the 2000 Hearings on Dialysis? I would think one reason is because they were vague in numerous areas. What was promised as far as enforcement?

there was nothing promised at the 2000 hearing just a lot on grandstanding by the senators. may this time around we may get something but the patients are going to have to keep the pressure up and plan on getting involved.

We were promised Standards of Care, they of course never happened. It appears that the Senate Hearings were a horse and pony show.<
>In this journey, I have found that the government likes to do microphone time and they love seeing themselves on the camera pretending to care.<
>The truth is if it is too difficult they never answer you . Senator Wyden's office told the dialysis patients who went to see him in 2000 that they wouldnt have to deal with this as they have connections with Georgetown University. His chief of staff Josh, fired the patients from contacting him or Wyden again. BUt Wyden showed up to the hearings and was OUTRAGED, my GOD Outraged, only had fired the messengers. He now is doing SPAM laws as this is what he is good at,,,not anything of substance. Gas Prices and SPAM.<
>I also contacted his office again, and they refuse to get back to you on any hard issue, my gosh dont we know when we are dismissed.<
>It appears that an election year is on the horizon, and Many Senators are going to be
ought up.<

My questions was what were the reasons we were promised new standards? What was wrong with the old standards? What did they say about enforcement?

We were promised Standards of Care because there are none. You only have the DOQI Guidelines from the NKF that was funded by an unrestricted grant from AMIGEN. In those same guidelines they have a disclaimer.<
>You will notice that in the NKF booklets that they sell. It is clearly there for all to see.<
>There never have been standards, only the DOQI Guidelines.
