This year we will be focusing on changes in the laws. We will be busy with the House Hearings and other's in DC.<

>We will still be advocating on behalf of patients, but will not give more than one opportunity for the clinics or physicians to do what is right. I am personally run raged and will be letting CMS and the Senate as always know of patient dismissals and the lack of rights in the clinics. We will be active in the dismissals and such as before, only will be delegating much of it out to legal and to the press. But will always ensure that the patients dismissed or threatened will take top priority. We just will be sending it off to lawyers, letting the Govt do what they should be doing. It will be monitored by many.<

>It appears that the Gov't has been aware of the issues of this industry and many have chosen not to deal with the "hard" issues that are costing the patients shorter lives and no rights in many clinics. They have been aware with a paper trail and that will continue. Only now it will go to the government and the press on the same email. Someone has to stop this insanity.that is what I will be consentrating on as well as others. Pat Harris from La,will be taking over many of the duties and is as pro active as myself when it comes to the patients care and rights. To have the Senate Committee on Finance not call the patients that we supplied them with and to go to easier issues is beyond belief. It appears that they claim that after talking to the patient in Texas about her dismissal, that they didnt want to deal with that and told me that they couldnt reach any of the patients on our list, was a lie. After contacting the patients, no message was ever left. When one realizes that the Senator or Senators took money after our last hearing from AMIGEN that we do know about, it is not surprising that they "cant" go against those who donate. Only they are accountable to the public. I still am amazed after reading the current GAO report that since 1998 that this industry has been operating below normal. After 4 Federal Investigations, they still have done nothing. Did they think that doing nothing it would change? But we go elsewhere and get louder if need be.<

>We have work to do this year and help in doing it. We will continue to hack away at the issues and will be focusing toward the end result. It simply has caused to many deaths as well as premature deaths. I for one am not giving up. The push has to be now. It is your life and your rights that are being violated. You could be in a great clinic now, but who will be there when your not.<

"Like me, you could.....be unfortunate enough to stumble upon a silent war. The trouble is that once you see it, you can't unsee it. And once you've seen it, keeping quiet, saying nothing, becomes as political an act as speaking out. Either way, you're accountable."
