However, it has been pointed out there are signs of progress.  The establishment democratic candidate won with 74% of the vote in 2004, in 2008 it has been reduced to 54% here in Colorado.

The republican establishment candidates actually lost both the Senate and Gubernatorial races!

It does appear people are getting sick of politics as usual.

On Feb. 29th 2012 there was a hearing for HB1279, a bill for publicly financed campaigns at the Colorado state capitol.  It didn't get out of committee, but many are considering it progress to get this far!
