For fear of degrading this into nation bashing, I would like to ask you where you got your "facts" from?<
>Because they seem rather suspect to me, being both Canadian and proud of our health system, as well as having worked in half a dozen different countries, all in the field of dialysis.<
>Oh and BTW, you forgot the organized bus trips of American seniors who cross the border north to fill their prescriptions.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I JUST FIRED AN INTERNAL MEDICINE DOCTOR WHO WOULD NOT LET ME TAKE PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY OF MY HEALTH CARE. SHE REFUSED TO RESPECT ME AS AN ACTIVE PARTICIPANT OF MY CARE PLAN AND PLAY AN ACTIVE ROLE IN MY MEDICATIONS. IF THE MEDICAL SYSTEM WANTS PATIENTS TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR HEALTH CARE THEN THEY MUST ALLOW THAT TO HAPPEN.and on top of that, she miswrote a prescription for me, giving me a drug i specifically told her i could NOT TAKE. had she written the script correctly, i would have had shut down my kidneys in a short time. she knew the other drugs i was on would not mix with her script. you cannot mix acetaphetamin with ibuprofin AND vicodin......my poor kidneys would be screaming by now. i am fighting hard to take care of my kidneys, which is a difficult situation given my condition. i have the choice of kidney killing drugs or living in constant pain. if i have no respectful say in my care, i will die at the hands of the medical industry. they are human and make mistakes. they have egos like everyone else. they have desires and illusions of grandeur, just like their patients and colleagues.MAYBE WE NEED TO PRESSURE THE MEDICAL INDUSTRY TO RESPECT PATIENTS THOUGHTS WORDS AND FEELINGS. IT IS ALL ABOUT RESPECT. IF A DOCTOR WILL RESPECT YOU, STAY WITH THAT DOCTOR. IF A DOCTOR WONT RESPECT WHAT YOU SAY....FIRE THE DOCTOR.....REPORT THE DOCTOR TO THE MANAGEMENT...WRITE A LETTER TO THE MEDICAL DIRECTOR...TELL THE WORLD THAT DOCTOR DISRESPECTED YOU. WORD OF MOUTH TRAVELS QUICKER THAN POLITICAL JARGON......GOOD LUCK TO ALL YOU PATIENTS OUT THERE. MAY HEALING COME TO YOU TODAY AND EVERYDAY!!!

First of all, talk about bandwagons? Writing your entire post in caps and not at least signing it with an accountable tag speaks volumes about you. Secondly, forgive me, but I only read the first couple of lines. Your post is way too wordy, and incoherent. Take some advice, less is more, babe. <
><
>And lastly, let me hip you to a concept that will probably blow your mind. I am a more loyal American than you, and you know why? Because rather than blindly following the status quo, I will always demand and want more from this country not because I don't love it, but because I love it. Can you dig that? I bet you can't. <
><
>Get out your history books and see if you can recall a few patriots by the names of George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, etc. Then go a bit farther and see if you can remember the names of A
aham Lincoln, Ulysses Grant, William Sherman. And most recently, Rev. Martin Luther King, Ralph Abernathy, Betty Friedan, Elizabeth Cady Stanton. What if any of these notables had followed your advice, where would this country be.<
><
>Yes, I ove this country. I love it because people like me built it into this great nation that it is, and you know what......<
><
>we're not done yet!

use of emoticons? Isn't the use of those irritating little faces as bad as using all CAPS. Every great American on your list was able to get their point across without using little faces. Emoticons are the crack of the Internet, just say no LuluW, just say NO.

Emoticons are fun. Hence, why they are positioned to the right for our usage. Typing in all caps is just plain bad etiquette and irritating, as is not being accountable to your posts, dear "Anticaps." And as for putting me in the company of those great Americans I named, all I can say is thanks! I never would have done so, but if you'd like to put me on the same level as those life changing individuals, great! <

Emoticons are fun to use on the internet, and no I do not run a business so if I type in bold please forgive me as it is easier to look at. And litlle LULU anonymous posts are a symbol of freedom of speech, you will not find this option on a few message boards as people want to censor a patient's viewpoint of what is happening to them in a clinic (or controlled environment). There is another website that supposedly has anonymous posters but beware he is recording your IP# that your internet service provider is sending and will throw you out if you step on the providers or nephrologist toes as he IS running a business off his message boards.

first of all, forgive me for the caps....didn't know they were forbidden on the board....i find caps easier to read sometimes...just me i guess.the united states of america has its problems, just like every other country. i don't blame the usa for the dialysis problems...i see the dialysis industry is lacking in quality care and safety standards. these are the issues i wish to address on this board.doctors work hard...they are in a position to control the life of a vulnerable human being. that is very powerful. sometimes with power comes corruption and the human being often pays the price..........i agree with an earlier post, if you don't like it in America, go live somewhere else. we have that freedom as Americans. May God bless America!

Renalman, we're all "anonymous" here. You don't know me from Eve, but you know my posts because I always use the same tag and am accountable to the things I write. If I write something, you'll know it was from "LuLuW." (Ms. LuLuW, not "little LuLuW). Make a tag, any tag, and stick to it. Drive by posting has nothing to do with free speech but rather is just plain cowardice. Funny, it's usually done by someone writing a judgemental, angry or disrespectful post. Hmmm, imagine that! <
><
>And Jahphia, you know what I love the most about America? I don't have to sit quietly like a little puppet and can speak up about the things I don't like and the things I want to change and it's okay! I'll be staying right here and when I'm done, you'll be thanking me! That's what this country is all about.

other reasons why some must post totally anonymous-- with all due respect, there are other reasons that you haven't thought of. Can't go into it here, but it is not for the reasons you have listed. Yes, there are those who do post anonymously for the reasons you listed, but not all who do it are doing it for the same purpose.

Thanks for the LOL. I have not laughed that hard from someone's response in a long time. I SEE THE CAPS DID EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED THEM TO DO...... Jahphia - USE CAPS ANY TIME YOU WANT TO. JUST BECAUSE LA LA DOESN'T LIKE THEM DOESN'T MEAN A THING. HEY, SHE LIKES ROLLING HEADS.<

It's dissapointing to see that this site is turning as petty and childish as some of the other web forums. Perhaps I'm missing the logic, but how does insulting each other serve any purpose, let alone the noble purpose that DEO stands for?<
>And in attempt to nip the replies in the bud, this is nothing against free speach, so please don't tell me to leave my country. This is simply about the fact that this is a serious subject, and schoolyard name-calling will ot help anyone.<

No one has been told to leave this country. Sometimes it is necessary to question who is on here and why. We have a lot of enemies out there who love to get us off the subject of dialysis. I am very glad that you consider this a serious subject an agree that
oad political statements have better places to be posted.<

Anonymous, I agree with you. You're right, there are other reasons people post anonymously, but I think the majority do so for the very reasons I mentioned, cowardice and no accountability.<
><
>And my dear, dear "sick of it", LOL (case in point), hey babe, please don't let my secret out that I'm not a patient because then the wonderful surgeons who just performed my transplant this past week will know they wasted a kidney on lil' ole me! <chortle><
><
>This is ridiculous and this place is ridiculous. I will be glad when DEO is no longer forced to be anonymous. We will never get anywhere when people can anonymously attack each other in this petty, immature and downright evil way. People need to come out of the shadows and start being accountable. Nothing will be accomplished in this way. Furthermore, I have a lot better things to do with my time, like taking a gazillion meds for one, and loving my family for two. So for now, I will no longer respond to the drive bys. So little Mr. Ms. or thing sick of it, do not post to me again because I will not respond.<

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

i understand anonymous postings for whistleblowing....i dont understand anonymous posting of slander, character bashing and name calling. the poster who is talking about actual happenings in a center must remain anonymous because there is NO WHISTLE-BLOWING PROTECTION FOR WORKERS. the anonymous poster who didn't like me being back was probably Arlene herself cuz i know her feelings regarding me. if it wasn't her, it was an industry trouble maker on this board, still here holding DEO back from what it was intended to do....better the dialysis industry, patient care and working conditions. i believe this organization plays both sides of the fence. i say this because of the postings i see. the slander comes from within and without....how can DEO succeed with such goings on? picking on cliches is petty. picking on typing etiquette is petty. sick of it? i am too. get down to business of concrete evidence of foul play done by the industry. if you are not going to do this, please don't post here. i left this board before because of the petty slander and double talk from the founders of DEO. i see 3 years later, you haven't grown, you haven't accomplished much since 2000. what's up with that? spent the funding you got in 2000? did that come from the industry and that's why you denied me a right on the board? knowing i would not want to be involved with the industry again? did the seattle mariners ever give the money they told you about? of the posters here, who gets paid by the industry? of the founders, how many on the board are industry and how many are concerned citizens, not working in the industry or for the industry past or present? for real and not just figure-head or token? who can tell me this?

First of all please feel free to contact the Mariners, we do not have a 501(3) C. You had accused me over 3 years ago of selling out and taking money. I would suggest you call the IRS and tell them that I didnt put that on my income tax. <
>I realize that it takes all kinds to make a world, and the accusations made 3 years ago are still eating at you. I have not taken a dime, but have turned down much. not everyone in life has a dollar figure or can be purchased. I asked someone else to answer this for me, but feel that only you and I know the history and the accusations that you have made. I was waiting for the day, as a leopard never gets rid of their spots.<
>As far as industry, you have been off this board for awhile. I would suggest that you contact the Mariners and get a letter from the, or better yet the charaties they give to are listed. We arent.<
>So please get a life and get real. I havent seen you do anything but point fingers. Lots of luck to you and I would suggest that you prove whst you just stated. Its called slander and I hope you can prove it!<
>Please continue to come on the board, as this never was about people agreeing with you are being liked. But rest assured my sleep is just fine.<
>Feel free to post, but in the future like LULU states hit and run posting, is the cowards way. Feel free to call me as you have harassed me in the past.<
>Love and Kisses<
