I have a question for anyone who can help. My grandmother, who is bi-polar, has recently started dialysis tx. She was doing pretty well until a few days ago. She has turned evil, she is showing signs of her manic stages and is unbearable. We have been unable to get any answers from any doctors about anythingm and it is getting really frustrating! Does anyone know when she has her tx. do her psych. meds get cleaned out? Leaving her as if she has not taken any of them? I really hate to see her like this, but I just dont know what to do.....I need some answers!

There is a very good chance that dialysis will remove some or most of the medications your grandmother is on. To be sure, please take the names and doses of all her medications and ask a pharmacist, esp. one who is somewhat familiar with dialysis. You may need to re- arrange the times she takes them so she gets the most benefit from them. Good Luck!

"Like me, you could.....be unfortunate enough to stumble upon a silent war. The trouble is that once you see it, you can't unsee it. And once you've seen it, keeping quiet, saying nothing, becomes as political an act as speaking out. Either way, you're accountable."
