I thought I would start a topic on things I've read elsewhere that I found interesting, or hadn't seen before. Years ago I became familiar with the critline devices and found a couple of discussions about them recently.

What is new to me anyway, is BCM and BVM to figure dry weight. If I can't recall it, maybe others don't know about it either so I decided to post the link to Ihatedialysis:
http://ihatedialysis.com/forum/index.php?topic=15981.0

Here is the critline discussion at Home Dialysis Central:
http://forums.homedialysis.org/showthread.php?t=117

If anybody else wants to join in, feel free!

Angie, over at Angie's Kidney Korner found a nice tutorial on ESRD:

Flu preparedness is a big topic with everybody and people with kidney disease should be especially concerned. Home Dialysis Central has had a great topic going on that subject and is definitely worth a look:

Yes I am but I am not as informed as say you or Bill Peckham and I do have another guy who is telling me why he is opposed to it. But I encourage people to get informed and don't just sit back. This effects everyone!

I was getting on my niece's case tonight for not coughing properly into the elbow of her arm. He does it where her elbow isn't even in front of her face. She might as well do it with her hand if she is going to stop the spread that way..

You would think with all the info out there that people would be informed but they are still needing more.

Also I was reading this which I also plan to put on my forums but in the news section:

Wonderful. As if there wasn't enough problems with donations.

I know at work anymore I feel like I'm walking through a wall of flames going from room to room, worrying about picking up something from a doorknob. I'll use a paper towel or something if I can to avoid touching a doorknob or handle, or use one of the wipes or hand gels they now have all over the place.

This one does have people spooked, good time to be a hermit.

Many people are afraid to get the shot because there is aluminum in it (which is also proved to be true even in USA government reports) but if you ask for the shot without adjuvant then it doesn't have it. People don't realize if they are so worried about that then they can ask for that. Still getting the shot but just lose some advantages. There is more about this but I haven't memorized it. It is on the net though and on the USA sites (forget which site but it is one of those .gov sites).

I would be surprised if there was enough aluminum, or was in a form to hurt anybody - but I've been wrong before!

Anyway, I thought I ought to mention CMS has extended it's comment period on medicare bundling until Dec. 16th:

Yeah I tried to have a chat topic on it where both M3Riddler and someone else would have spoke at but because of lack of interest on the issue on KidneyKorner we never did it. It was just too hard as I had it scheduled and everything but then when the day came people actually got mad saying it was talked about the week before .. during a chat that was supposed to be another topic. I wondered if Home Dialysis Central was going to do a Webinar on the topic because they are very good at that and Webinars are a LOT easier to keep on topic than an unregulated chat room..

Then I was glad when they did have a webinar and usually you can still listen to the saved copy of it afterwards:

http://forums.homedialysis.org/showthread.php?p=18641

Still I know it is a very important issue for Americans (even though I know very little on the issue myself since I am Canadian).
